[edit] Scapegoat (band)
//stuff deleted//
- Ahh, I wasn't aware that last.fm was GFDL. I'm not sure what to do in that case, when two different websites say the same content is licensed under two very different licenses. In any case, even if the band did reply that it's released under the GFDL (despite saying all rights reserved on their own website) it's probably much better to write the article in your own words... lines like "proven adamant with their driven work ethic to create inventive and passionate compositions" aren't really encyclopedic. Also, if it can be made clear whether the criteria at WP:MUSIC is met or not, that'd be good as well... I don't know how notable the band is, but the article has been created and deleted three times over the past four months. --Interiot 20:16, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

- For what it's worth, the original version of the page was a pretty decent non-copyvio stub... 222 words, an infobox, and an album-list (whose pictures are still hanging around, orphaned: Image:Scapegoat too.jpg, Image:Scapegoat eod.jpg, Image:Scapegoat tcwd.jpg, Image:Scapegoat Lovbh.jpg), I sort of wish I could show it to you so you could work on it in case it's notable. It was speedy deleted under CSD A7 (no assertion of notability), so if there's evidence that it meets the WP:MUSIC criteria, you should be able to take it to WP:DRV to have it undeleted (even if for only a couple days while it goes through AfD, during which, you'd have time to add assertions of notability). --Interiot 22:08, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimania in Atlanta!
Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 01:03, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Atlanta is not only the sole Wikimania bid in the Southeast, it's also the only Wikimania bid from the United States. The other cities are Toronto, London, Karlsruhe (Germany), Alexandria (Egypt), and Cape Town (South Africa). Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 05:50, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, no, there isn't voting, a jury selects the winner. I'd inform UNC anyway; maybe they'd like to partner with us for assistance. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 13:06, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
