[edit] Article Contributions

I don't consider myself to be an expert in any particular field, so I enjoy contributing to a wide array of topics, including geography, military, automobiles, animals, popular music, and whatever else happens to catch my attention. Here is a random sampling of of some of the articles I started in no particular order:

  • For animal related articles I choose to ignore all rules, because I believe Wikipedia:Naming conventions (fauna) is flat out wrong and does nothing but contribute to edit warring. Common names, especially when it comes to reptiles and amphibians, are randomly assigned by whoever wants to assign them, generally blatantly inaccurate and often misleading. Linnaean taxonomy is not some kind of obscure theory, it was created EXACTLY for this reason - to have a universal way to refer to and categorize all animals, and while it is far from a perfect system, it is better than randomly assigned common names that change from locality to locality, or even vary widely within one particular place. For any species one can come up with at least a half dozen common names, any of which could be a valid article title depending on who was writing the article. So to clear up that issue, I believe that articles should be categorized and named for their Linnaean classification, and then redirects be made from appropriate common names (which sometimes number in the dozens, along with variations in capitalization and spacing, such as "treefrog" and "tree frog") and any confusing taxonomy and reasons for various common names should be discussed in the article itself. That being said, I do not participate in renaming wars, if someone moves/changes an article I've created based on Linnaean taxonomy to a common name, I will not revert it back unless it was changed to something entirely absurd.

[edit] Photo Contributions

I have access to a large array of reptile and amphibian species for photography, far too many to list, but if I can provide assistance for a herpetology related article, please don't hesitate to ask. Trivia: My hand appears in no less than 40 different articles.
