Hello. My name is Dawkeye, and I am an ICT Technician, working in Education, and living in Leicester, England.

I made my first wiki-edit on 29 May 2006. Like most people I started small, making corrective edits, fixing spelling or links, before making the leap to creating articles.

Since then I have gone on to start pages on various people (mostly actors), books, albums and aircraft, as well as a lot of basic grunt work fixing stuff (god bless you Firefox spellcheck!) I've also done some translation work, mostly from German, a language I have only a basic knowledge of - but you can go a long way with Babelfish, a good dictionary or two, some technical knowledge, and a little lateral thinking.

My favourite article that I started is probably the one on William Green (rifleman) who as well as having an interesting story was also my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather.

In 2007 I set myself the task of clearing as many of clearing as many of the "Aircraft without proper specifications" pages - just replace old-style lists with the new template and copy the data over - easy! Only later did I realize that there a lot more pages needing an update that aren't tagged to appear on the page.

More recently I have been systematically working my way through the "ships without infoboxes" page, as well as the Category:Ship articles needing infobox conversion - this will keep me occupied for some time!
