[edit] Suggestions for future additions

This list will be difficult to maintain because most of what will be added constitutes original research. My recommendation would be to only add items that are particularly noteworthy (i.e. a band that fits under notability requirements, not just a garage band you and your buddies from college are in), and that the references be as verifiable as possible. Sometimes, a mention of "dawn of the dead" is just a phrase, not a reference to this movie. The best way to help this page is to include as much context as possible (i.e. lyrics, album, year, scene, any production notes that clearly indicate a reference or homage to George Romero's original Dawn of the Dead film, etc.). Hope this helps! --Midnightdreary 14:29, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree wholeheartedly! I just cut and pasted from the master article (Dawn of the Dead which was getting cluttered. Maybe none of it is noteworthy, but the precedent on Wiki at the moment seems to be this style rather than the previous mish mash that was cluttering up the page. Thanks for the template too, I forgot! Desdinova 15:03, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem. This was probably a good move and several main articles have made similar splits. Just keep an eye out for the better here than there argument. The best way to avoid possible nominations for deletion is to make these listings as beefy as possible, with lots of context and, where possible, critical interpretations. Best of luck to all the 'dead' heads out there. --Midnightdreary 00:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] this is just awful

"The film was the inspiration for a number of rock songs, including:

"Jump Around" by House of Pain ("Put out your head then you wake up in the Dawn of the Dead")"

jump around isn't a rock song and clearly the film wasn't an inspiration for the song it inspired that one lyric. this is also the case for a ton of other songs in the section maybe you guys want to fix the wording there i don't know nor do i really give a shitCats AND hats (talk) 00:02, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
