Dawdon is NOT an area of Seaham. It was formed as a seperate community, but urban sprawl has joined the two areas together.Seahamlass 21:41, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

I concur with the above. Dawdon was created as a seperate pit village from Seaham while the pit was being sunk in 1900. Rows of colliery cottages were built around the pit from 1910, while the Church of St Hild and St Helen, known as “The Pitmen’s Cathedral” was erected by the Londonderry family in 1912.80.176.190.43 08:45, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
