Founded in 1940, Dawson Community College is an innovative, exciting and comprehensive community college with approximately 400 full-time students, located in Glendive, Montana. DCC offers students one-year certificate programs or two-year associate's degree programs. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is part of the Montana University System.
Academic Atmosphere
Education at DCC is a personal learning experience in a supportive, friendly atmosphere. Classes are small, usually fewer than thirty students. Instructors know students by name and schedule regular office hours to assist students. Individual attention helps students succeed in colleg and in their careers.
As an accredited institution, four-year colleges and universities accept DCC credits for transfer. DCC advisors work with four-year colleges and universities, understand the course requirements for their programs, and are able to assist DCC students in selecting courses which fulfill specific transfer requirements.
Admissions
Dawson Community College has an open admissions policy, assuring that anyone who can benefit from DCC's educational offerings and services can be admitted as a full-time or part-time student.
Financial Aid
Financial aid assistance offered at DCC includes scholarships, tuition waivers, grants, loans, and work study. Approximately 85% of DCC students are awarded some type of financial assistance. Depending on the students eligibility, the assistance can cover most, if not all, college expenses.
The Cost of Your Education
Dawson Community College is one of Montana's most affordable college. At DCC, we keep costs low for tuition, fees, room and board. Tuition and fees start at just $91.20 per credit (in-district). Room and board for those students living on campus is just $1,650 per semester.
Campus Housing
The student housing complex is made up of thirty-two, 2 bedroom apartments which house up to four students. Each fully furnished unit includes 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, a dining area, a living room, and a full bathroom. The room and board cost includes a student's rent, utilities, cable television, local telephone, high speed internet access, and participation in the 10 meal per week food plan. Students living on campus have easy and quick access to all the campus buildings, offices, and activities. The director of housing and assistant expand the college experience by planning activities in the Commons for socializing and involvement in DCC activities.
Full-time students under the age of 21 must live on campus until they have earned 30 credits. All students living on campus must participate in the food plan. Students can reserve a space for housing at the same time an admissions application is submitted.
