Dawn Whyatt Frith

Dawn Whyatt Frith is an Australian ornithologist, photographer and publisher based in Far North Queensland. Of English origin, she has worked for the British Museum of Natural History at the Royal Society of London's research centre on Aldabra Atoll, and as senior biologist at the Phuket marine biological centre, before moving to Australia. Since then she has collaborated with her husband Clifford Frith in long-term studies on bowerbirds and birds of paradise. In 1996 she was awarded, jointly with her husband, the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union's D.L. Serventy Medal which recognizes excellence in published work on birds in the Australasian region. As well as numerous scientific papers, the Friths have authored many books, including:
