[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Mn-flour.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mn-flour.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 15:45, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] THE GARAGE

The difference is notability. Did you have Lordi appear on stage? Even so, the other article The Garage (night club) has limited notability. See Wikipedia:Notability for details. Adding citations will definitely help. And, please do not remove the notability tag! Thanks -- Chris 73 | Talk

This is a battle of perspectives, I'll assure you Britney Spears is just as important to Europe as Lordi may be to the United States. This is a matter of your opinion and you haven't shown me much else than that. I'll try to comply as best as I can to your demands as an Administrator, but I am confident THE GARAGE is quite notable. I'd rather prove this than send you dozens of lesser notable Wiki entries to be deleted just to go against your opinion. Davumaya 11:47, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Let me quote "Notability is not subjective

Subjective evaluations are not relevant for determining whether a topic warrants inclusion in Wikipedia. Notability criteria do not equate to personal or biased considerations, such as: "never heard of this", "an interesting article", "topic deserves attention", "not famous enough", "very important issue", "popular", "I like it", "only of interest to [some group]", etc.

Notability is not judged by Wikipedia editors directly. The inclusion of topics on Wikipedia is a reflection of whether those topics have been included in reliable published works"

Did Britney spears appear in the garage? In any case, I may be wrong about the notability of this article, but so may you. If you want, I can list the article at WP:AfD, where a larger number of editors decide if it is notable or not. -- Chris 73 | Talk 12:08, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Well basically you are not the first person I have met on Wiki who decides what is notable or not because they don't like it or something. I read a lot of stuff on here that contradicts the idea of notability. For example, if a band breaks up, are they notable because of prior fame and awards or is it because a fan community still exists? And the reason I react so abrasive to the citation monster is that I read plenty of Wiki articles that have no citations in them whatsoever for the most outrageous statements. Certainly you can see my frustration if you are trying to outright judge my article for deletion on first glance. Though I applaud you for taking the time to do so. Davumaya 12:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
This is part of the new page patrol. There is an awful lot of - xcuse me - crap coming in at Wikipedia in any minute, and it is tough to decide what is worthwhile and what is not. (See here for the latest new articles). I also agree, that there are a lot of articles with very dubious notability on Wikipedia. In any case, I am still not sure about the article. My preference would be to have more people look at it, that is what the "notability" tag is for. If you don't mind, I would like to add the tag again. if the topic is notable, the tag will be removed eventually by another admin. BTW, If i would have been 100% sure of the non-notability of the article, i would have deleted it right away. I hope you understand -- Chris 73 | Talk 12:46, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spoken articles

Hi. I've noticed that you appear to have been working on converting the articles Urban planning, Urban design and Architecture into a spoken version for over two months now, according to your entry on the In Progress section of Wikiproject Spoken Wikipedia. If you are no longer working on the article, please either remove yourself from the list, or notify me so I can do so, so other editors will know they can work on the article instead. If you don't reply within a week, I will assume you are no longer working on the article. Cheers,  Panser Born  (talk) 19:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I've replied to your query on my talk page, so the conversation stays in one place. Cheers,  Panser Born  (talk) 12:07, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure if you've seen the reply I made yet, but since I posted it I've archived my talk page, which means the previous link I gave you no longer works — you can now find my reply via this link. Cheers, -Panser Born- (talk) 14:00, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pals and lead pipes

Per discussion at Talk:Minnesota#IPA

Bring our friends into the discussion? "Ganged up on"...? Why not just threaten to sue me while you're at it?

You wouldn't be the first instance of a native speaker who managed to sound like a foreigner in certain pronunciations (case in point). I'll be very clear about this, though: race doesn't show through accents. Along with the fact that I never questioned your nativeness, that's all I'm going to say. Do let me know when you're winding up next time so I can get out of your way before you start accusing me of racism in every other sentence.

Peter Isotalo 07:51, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

LOL. I'll let the educatedmentally sane ones in society decide if I sound foreign. Davumaya 20:31, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] starter home

Hi, I noticed that you are a real estate expert. I recently started an article on starter homes and I was hoping you would be interested in contributing to it. Right now it's just a stub article and I'd like to add more content to it. Cheers. Wl219 02:39, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Audio

Hello, I have not yet listened to the audio. Both I and the servers were too busy to make it through two hours that day. But what I heard sounded great (pronunciation of Minneapolitans needs work but was intelligible) and will try again later. Nice of you! -Susanlesch 22:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I-35W Bridge

Hi, Davumaya. Sorry or thankfully I have not run into any of the mentions you have encountered. I do know what you mean about the media event but what happened is still recent, divers are still working and the whole thing is so sad I'd rather not disrupt anyone just now by actively looking for things to remove about it. -Susanlesch 02:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Iraqi insurgency

Your comment wasn't very nice. This article was demoted almost two years ago. There's no need to be antagonistic. -- But|seriously|folks  17:55, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

  • lol sorry i just realized the date was very old, i got the article off of the spoken wiki requests page. Davumaya 18:27, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Hi.

I just visited the Wikipedia page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations#Reformed_and_Presbyterian_Churches and found a message from you about vandalism. Perhaps someone else is using my IP address somehow. I have never visited that page before, or edited it, let alone vandalized it. The only page I've edited in Wikipedia over the past few weeks was the discussion page for the article on "gasoline" where I noted an error that was subsequently corrected in the article.

Your comments about my vandalizing multiple pages and, perhaps, being more at home in a non-English wiki are baffling. I never vandalize pages, and I am a professional writer whose first language is English. I may not be the most experienced user or contributor to Wikipedia, but I don't want my standing in the community tarnished. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.28.178.67 (talk) 21:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

I am most baffled by anonymous unsigned IPs myself. .:DavuMaya:. 05:02, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Uhmmm... this IP address is a company proxy apparently being used by several folks. Personally, I'm going to go create myself an account so I don't get lumped into this conversation. 66.28.178.67 21:26, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kierkegaard

Nice work, Davumaya. Looking forward to hearing the rest. I do have some comments though:
  • Sartre is pronounced "Sart", not "Sart-tra"
  • When I said Regine was "Rah-GEE-na", I meant GEE as in "GEEK" (gē) not as "GEE Whiz" (jē); my apologies

For the rest of the article, here's some tips

  • Jaspers is pronounced "Yahs-pers"
  • Ludwig Wittgenstein is "LOOD-vihg VIT-guhn-shtine"

Thanks again for the recordings! Poor Yorick 10:59, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] brief politics section

I added the blurb like "xxx is located in Minnesota's 2nd congressional district, represented by John Kline, a conservative Republican, scoring 2.8% progressive on a range of issues[1] and 88% conservative based on 2006 House votes.[2]" in most of the metro cities. Some of them have been deleted or modified; I notice you restored one of them today. Thanks. There are similar blurbs for Ramstad, McCullough, Ellison, Bachmann, and others. I'm not sure what you're asking.--Appraiser 20:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

For Betty McCollum, see Saint Paul, Minnesota. For Jim Ramstad, see Eden Prairie, Minnesota. I guess Walz, Ellison, and Bachmann didn't yet have data when I did these. And it looks like I didn't do Peterson or Oberstar either. The data is in Minnesota Congressional Districts though, if you want to do any others. Thanks.--Appraiser 13:37, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your talk

Your comments are rather insulting if not also equally misguided. .:DavuMaya:. 21:46, 9 November 2007 (UTC) How so? I thought I was complementing you by saying you were inspiring. I was not being sarcastic if that is what you thought. However, I do believe you are misguided by jumping on me because I waited 23 hours instead of 24. The difference is negilable. Showers 21:48, 9 November 2007 (UTC

WP:3RR Rather, the rule is an "electric fence".[1] Editors may still be blocked even if they have made three or fewer reverts in a 24 hour period, if their behavior is clearly disruptive. Efforts to game the system, for example by persistently making three reverts each day or three reverts on each of a group of pages, cast an editor in a poor light and may result in blocks.' WP is not a game. .:DavuMaya:. 21:57, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
How was it disruptive? I have given clear reasons for my edits using Wikipedia policy and was reverted with no reasons given other than must learn to discuss (who made no effort to discuss other than saying "you have your opinion, I have mine") or sources to prove notability. Showers 22:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
........ I'm done talking on this, I'd rather use my energy to build pages up and not quibble over Notable natives. .:DavuMaya:. 22:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What's this all about?

You have so many different IPs, its hard to track you all down. I suggest before you remove deletion processes at whim, you engage in discussion in the talk page. I suggest registering an account here at WP so we don't think you're trolling or pretending to be someone else. .:DavuMaya:. 21:20, 9 November 2007 (UTC) Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Craigslist Killing .:DavuMaya:. 21:22, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

What's that all about??? I've only posted under one IP? --24.170.224.21 03:57, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I am the chief editor of this article that you created an audio introduction for. The article's introduction has changed quite a bit since you've spoken it, back in October. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing it over again, if it's not a burden for you. Thank you.--Pericles of AthensTalk 02:14, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
