Hi Dave,
Sorry for long absence. I have been aware of your message just few days ago. Actually it was long time I was not making any more contribution to wikipedia. I will mail you soon. Best regards, User:Farid2053

For the fourth time, I'm a user in China and I need to use an open proxy to access wikipedia. I've requested that changes be made to the open proxy policy to allow users in China access to wikipedia:
see the section Proposed Change to Wikipedia’s No Open Proxy Policy under Wikipedia:Village pump (policy).
As you can see, I've never been accussed of vandalising any pages, just accessing wikipedia from China. The info on the block was Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by CesarB for the following reason (see our blocking policy)
This IP address has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy or zombie computer. To prevent abuse, editing from these proxies is currently prohibited. For more information about open proxies and what you can do, please see the WikiProject on open proxies. Your IP address is 69.17.116.17."
Could we all save ourself the hassel of have to block and unblock by changing this ridiculous policy? --David Straub 14:05, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

unblock|I'M USING THE INTERNET IN CHINA!!! I MUST GO THROUGH A PROXY SERVER TO ACCESS WIKIPEDIA!!!!}} This is 100% ridiculous!!! I've been blocked for the 2nd time in a week by user:Sarge Baldy!!! Wikipedia is contributing to the censorship of users in China by blocking open proxies!!! This is the only way that we can get on. Do you editors not want us to contribute to wikipedia? This is frustrating as hell and stupid, epescially considering I complained about it just a few days ago and was unblocked. --David Straub 03:14, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Will someone please unblock my account. I live in China and I can't access wikipedia unless I am on a proxy server. user:Sarge Baldy blocked me because I have been using the following proxy ISP to access wikipedia:
69.17.116.18.
I really wish Sarge Baldy would have taken one second to look at my user page and seen that I'm in China and must use a proxy server. It's bad enough I have to deal with censorship in China, and now wikipedia!!! --David Straub 02:18, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- You account is not blocked to unblock. Open proxies are unfortunately open to abuse by those wishing to vandalise wikipedia and as such policy is to block them on site. As to Sarge Baldy taking a look at your userpage before blocking, we cannot see who uses a particular IP address so Sarge Baldy has no way of knowing that the block would affect you to look, though as noted since policy is to block open proxies it wouldn't make much difference. --pgk(talk) 08:39, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Please see the talk page about the discussion of a possible merge with Tajik people. I realise that you are probably more knowledgeable than myself on the matter and would appreciate your input. :) - Francis Tyers · 00:08, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sarah Jacobson
Hi David, thanks for letting me know about the deletion. I've added more information to the article and one reference. See what you think. Do we have a chance now? -Intheshadows 11:13, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

- Hi again David. The work you did regarding the tags and codes is just great. The article looks wonderful. I still don't know how to do all that technical stuff, as of yet. I've added more information but will have to work on collecting more references tomorrow. Some information came from the Austin Chronicle article, which I've added to the "External links" section. I've also left messages on a few talk pages. As well, I took a look at the "Guidelines for Notability" and, as you will notice when you look at the article, it seems evident that Sarah falls well within these guidelines. Its so ridiculous to delete this article, since it will just have to be rewritten in the future as esteem for Sarah Jacobson continues to grow.-Intheshadows 11:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi David - How about that? The article is being kept. I think congratulations are in order! -Intheshadows 09:58, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi
Hi David I see you are an editor interested in Central Asia. Could you take some time to look at Terrorism in Kazakhstan and offer your comment. There is a revert war going on there because one user tries to push his POV on the subject. Thankscs 18:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion
A tag has been placed on Ruoqiang City, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please do not post articles with the intention of not finishing them. M173627 (talk) 02:42, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
