[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ballykissangel.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ballykissangel.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 16:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] TTC Station Infobox Template
I think you have contributed or even created the TTC Station Infobox template. May I suggest considering adding a coordinates field that uses the "coord" template? Normally I think one would make such a suggestion on the Talk page for the template, but that page seems to be in use for other purposes. Excuse my pack of Wikipedia knowledge. papageno 05:36, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fancy seeing you here!
Hello, DA! It's Guest from the EV-Nova.net forums. I had no idea that you were even a member of Wikipedia until I saw your name on EVula's user page. I'm sure you were swamped with questions about what happened to our forums, but has there been any new information since it's been a few months? Drop me a line back whenever you get a chance. :) GlassCobra 06:23, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I'm definitely not blaming you for anything. We certainly had a good time. :) It's nice to see a familiar name on our wide interweb. Hope all is well with you, and feel free to drop me a line anytime! GlassCobra 14:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Brian Sinclair
An article that you have been involved in editing, Brian Sinclair, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brian Sinclair. Thank you. -- Daytona2 16:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Railways
Regarding this, I'm glad you agree. Sometimes I think it's just me.... :-)
Any chance you could add your wisdom to the debates on {{s-rail}}, or on succession boxes? --RFBailey 02:27, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Toronto LRT stations
In 2005 you wrote in Category talk:Toronto LRT stations:
- Er, are these articles really appropriate? With the exception of the subway stations included, none of these are actually named TTC stations; they are merely streets at which the streetcars stop,
There were responses in 2006 from two others, agreeing with you, and I've just added my agreement now. However, nothing has been done. May I suggest that you do an actual Articles For Deletion nomination, following the recommended form for a group of related articles? I'd do it myself, but anonymous users aren't allowed to.
(Please don't reply on "my" talk page; I'm not the only person who uses this IP address. Reply here or not at all. I won't bug you again if you've changed your mind or can't conveniently do this; I'm just suggesting you proceed if you still feel as you did before, because I think you were right.) --207.176.159.90 (talk) 03:13, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Template:BS, Template:BS3
Hi~ It seems that you have experienced some difficulty or observed some bugs in the new function of those two templates. Would you mind sharing with me some examples of wrong displays, preferably with print screens, so that I or others can improve them? - PeterCX&Talk 06:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- I tried to extract your example Template:Cross Country Route here, with {{BS3}} replaced by {{User:Peterwhy/tBS3}}. Now all {{BS}} lines are the original template, {{BS3}} lines are of my sandbox template, and {{BS5}} lines are my edited public template. I don't see any misalign here. Perhaps you would like to visit User:Peterwhy/Sandbox3, where some of them uses the edited {{BS2}}, {{BS4}} and {{BS5}}. Welcome to tell me if any problem exists =) - PeterCX&Talk 15:04, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edmonton Light Rail Transit
In the article on Edmonton Light Rail Transit, someone has taken the BS template based code that you placed there and, probably using cut and paste, inserted it in every ETS Station. Therefore I have created the Template:ETS LRT route using your creation and replaced the code with this template for each station. You also wondered about the maintenance facility, and so I have also created a starting article for D.L. MacDonald Yard (ETS) and added it to the route map. [edit] York Region - Viva map
Hello David - in the new version of the Viva system map you posted today (Image:Viva_York_Region_route_map.svg) there is a new note next to the Henderson station that says "Murray 300m". I don't know what that means. I have used the Viva Blue route many times, and there is no GO connection near that stop. PKT (talk) 22:21, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, nutz - I forgot about that service. The 'B' route actually runs the whole length of the Blue route - all on Yonge Street from Newmarket to Finch Stn and on to York Mills. In other words, the two routes are on top of each other between Newmarket and Finch. I'm not sure that the "Murray 300m" note adds to the map, but 'tis up to you! PKT (talk) 01:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- You responded, "The B only stops at the few points listed in the GO schedule though, correct?"
[edit] "Dictionary style digression" in Flying Scotsman article
I was the one who put in the more detailed disambiguation; it's a pity you saw the contribution as a "digression" as it was very carefully worded and very much to the point, targeting the general public attracted to a popular article. The reason for inserting the caveat (which is what it is) was simply because I am sick of people indiscriminately referring to locomotives as "trains" - that's all. I think that in this particular case we have to consider "bending" WP rules. It may have been more constructive if instead of immediately deleting you had placed your concerns on the talk page. In any case we could still look for another solution as it is a pity to lose this caveat altogether and in such a conspicuous place.--John of Paris (talk) 12:26, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
It would be peripheral to most articles but this particular case may be a special one due to its popularity. This article can be kept to a very basic level because those interested in the technical history of this type can always refer to the main article (which I have just jointly rewritten with another editor giving citations that were totally absent before). My problem here is with inflexibility becoming ever more prevalent in WP due to all-invading bureaucratic mentality and over-policing; less consideration seems to be given to informing the general reader than to encouraging editorial brio. I can do no more than refer you once again to the last sentence in my previous post to which you have in no way responded.--John of Paris (talk) 17:46, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "What is the source of the rebrand name?"
The name of the franchise is "Thameside." Therefore, if NX do rebrand it, then this will be the name of the franchise- eg East Coast Franchise = NX East Coast; Anglia franchise = NX East Anglia.
I have put on the page that it is possible that it won't happen.

- Overall, you are probably right in this info being removed. I am sure I read something somewhere, but I can't remember now. Regards, Dewarw (talk) 16:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Transperth Railway Map
I made a small update to the Transperth Railway map to indicate that the Joondalup and Mandurah lines overlap: http://trs80.ucc.asn.au/TransperthRailwayMap.svg Feel free to redo it yourself, I'm an Inkscape novice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TRS-80 (talk • contribs) 22:39, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EVNovaPluginViewedInResEdit.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:EVNovaPluginViewedInResEdit.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Map for East Midlands Trains
Do you think its possible to get a route map for EMT like ones for Tramlink and Sheffield Supertram and National Express East Coast? Thanks. Pafcool2 (talk) 12:45, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Probably a schematic map would be easier and look better on the page. Thanks and take your time, there's no rush, as you are doing a favour for me. Pafcool2 (talk) 14:15, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Metrolink map: St Peters Square
The station name, as used by Metrolink in their publications, is St Peters Sq. I don't want to argue whether this should, or shouldn't be St Peter's, but I think the map should reflect the 'official' spelling. --Jotel (talk) 14:35, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are right about the maps, but this page [1] and pages linked off it , for example [2] say St Peters.
So we're both right :-) --Jotel (talk) 16:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 660AV Floppy Drive
You reverted my edit saying that the floppy drive changed when Apple changed the name form Centris to Quadra. This is not true. Most Centris 660AVs have the newer-style floppy drive, only the very earliest have the old style. I've never seen a Quadra 660AV with the old style, but I do know that it isn't the name change that caused the switch.
I'd like to put my edit back in; would you be okay with that? I wanted to point this out; I think it's useful information for collectors. They may wonder why their machine doesn't match the picture. Then if somebody knows some exact cutoff, they can write about that and we'll all learn something.
Ben Boldt (talk) 14:36, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't read carefully; I see that you have taken it out, modified it, and placed it farther down the page. I thought you had removed the info completely. I still would like to OK it with you that Centris to Quadra was not actually the change of the drive style before I change the info back. Do a Google search or Google Image Search for Centris 660AV and you'll see that only a small percentage of Centris 660AVs do indeed have the old-style drive opening. It appears that all Quadra 660AVs have the newer style but I can't be certain.
-
- I went ahead and made the change; feel free to talk with me if you disagree.
-
-
- Here's a pretty definitive example of a Centris 660AV that doesn't have auto-inject (especially look at the box since you can't see the label on the Mac): [3] I've been looking for a Centris 660AV with auto-inject for quite a while on eBay and all of them I've seen are the newer style like this.

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:BombardierJetTrainLocomotiv.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:BombardierJetTrainLocomotiv.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 22:13, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall1975SimonWard.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall1975SimonWard.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:09, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
