Hello David,
The actual slogan attributed to John Hargrave, leader of the Social Credit Party of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is "He who shouts for work shouts for war." This is found quoted in Gorham Munson, *Aladdin's Lamp: The Wealth of the American People* (New York, Creative Age Press, 1945, p. 276).
You will note that I am having difficulty with publishing data re Douglas's "A Mechanical View of Economics."--and have asked Jim for additional information. I may have to extend my search abroad.
Please note also that the reference to Social Credit as a third alternative factor should be refined: Munson discusses the futility of the Left-Right conflict and presents Social Credit as follows: "Social Credit, the Hargravian dialectic says, is the Third Resolvent Factor." *Aladdin's Lamp: The Wealth of the American People* (New York: Creative Age Press, 1945, p. 200. This is consistent with Douglas's Chart of 1951 which gives the objective of Social Credit as being the realistic integration of ends and means.
Sincerely Wally
Hello David,
Re "A Mechanical View of Economics." By Major C. H. Douglas. Jim advises that It appeared in *The New Age* January 2, 1919. However, it also comprises Chapter IV of Douglas's book The Control and Distribution of Production (London: Cecil Palmer, 1922, pp. 56-62)
Sincerely Wally
