I'm David Harper. I live near Cambridge, England with my wife and cats.
I used to be a professional astronomer. I taught mathematics and astronomy at the University of London for several years, then spent two years as a member of HM Nautical Almanac Office at the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Cambridge, until it was closed by the British government in 1998.
Since then, I've been doing bioinformatics at the Sanger Institute.
