I'm a male happily living in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. My username is based on my real name, David, although I don't really think I "rock".
Computer programming is one of my main hobbies. You can read more about that in the HTML and programming section of my user page.
I'm particularly interested in science, mathematics and computer science. Because of this, I like to visit the Wikipedia Science reference desk and try to answer a few of the questions there if I can. Even if I can't answer them (as is usually the case), some of the topics there are fascinating to read.
[edit] Wikipedia activity
In general, my contributions to Wikipedia relate to maintaining the encyclopedia as a whole, which leads to some people calling me a WikiGnome. However, I do not actively limit myself to this type of work, and I sometimes contribute meaningfully to some articles whenever I can. I also occasionally go on "link disambiguation sprees" if a disambiguation page has a lot of ambiguous links to it.
I am neither a deletionist nor am I an inclusionist. I am not in favour of deleting new articles that I think could grow into a much better article, but am keen on deleting those that should be deleted, such as articles that are clear vanity or nonsense.
[edit] HTML and programming
Sometime during 1999, I got into HTML coding and making webpages. In 2000, I started programming in JavaScript, and programming soon became a hobby.
In late 2003, I made a website on request called Eon Club, which is largely Pokémon oriented. It grew pretty fast and has quite a lot of stuff on it, but doesn't really get updated that much anymore. You can still look at it here.
However, my main generic website is located here.
Most of what I've done with JavaScript is on Eon Club, but some of my other non-Eon Club related JavaScript programs include a marble game, a Roman numeral converter and a love calculator (based on a classic schoolyard algorithm).

Other than that, my contributions are generally here and there, this and that.
