[edit] Place of birth
User:81.178.23.89 repeatedly changed the place of birth of Sheppard from Reigate to Charlwood with comments like "David Sheppard was born in this house, Dormer Cottage, Charlwood. We were visited by his mother Mary Sheppard, some 25 years ago who wanted to see the house again. She gave us photographs of herself and (Sheppard)". But Charlwood does not appear in any of the commonly available references. Tintin (talk) 02:43, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- I wonder if he was born in Reigate but the house where he lived as a baby was in Charlwood. In any case, it cannot be changed without a citation. A personal anecdote is not sufficient to contradict trusted sources. Stephen Turner (Talk) 10:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- Well, they're only a few miles apart, and Charlwood looks like it's only a tiny village, but there are other towns closer to Charlwood. I wouldn't be surprised if he was born in a hospital in Reigate even if his parents were living in Charlwood at the time, but that's only a guess. Whatever the case, we need a citation to change it.
