[edit] Great Job

Fantastic Job on this article. I appreciate the other editors taking an interest in my meager first attempts. It is an excellent article compared to how it started. Jeffrey Vernon Merkey 18:04, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inappropriate cartoons

I just deleted 2 over-the-top political cartoons drawn by the subject of this article (Cornsilk) depicting Cherokee Chief Chad "Corntassel" Smith in KKK regalia. I'm not sure the cartoons are needed in an article on Cornsilk, even if he did draw them. Here is the earlier version of the article with the cartoons. I don't know who's right and who's wrong in these disputes, but BLP concerns must be monitored in the meantime. --A. B. (talk) 22:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I had the cartoons speedily deleted and they are gone. I agree, even if David and John drew them they are not appropriate here. Jeffrey Vernon Merkey 03:24, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma

As stated by John on his website: http://www.cornsilks.com/cornsilks.html he is a member of the "... Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and that is a BOGUS entity, illegally constituted, ..." You cannot remove it and just put Cherokee Nation. These are his claims. --Kebron 11:58, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Allegations of Sabotage and attempted murder/Hate Crimes directed against David

More recently, David Cornsilk has made public statements he has been the target of various threats, including sabotage of his motor vehicle and attempts on his life. [1][2]. Given his involvement in the freedmen controversy and gay rights activism in rural Eastern Oklahoma, these events appear to be of an extremely serious nature.
