[edit] His ancestry

Most online web sites seem to say that his father is of Italian background, and mother Czech. But this book [1] - searchable online - says it's the other way around. "Boreanaz" does seem to likely be a Czech name over an Italian one. Does anyone have any first-hand info that directly contrasts the book's? JackO'Lantern 23:16, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

At the message board on his IMDb page, one poster claims:
The name Boreanaz is Italian. I believe on his mother's side he's Czech. His dad changed his last name to Roberts for his career in entertainment, but David chose to keep the family name of Boreanaz. Gilliamjf 13:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, that's what I saw on a few web sites - but I never saw something like a direct quote. The book seems pretty reliable when it states that it's his mother who is Italian. Are you sure "Boreanaz" isn't a Czech name? They often end with "naz" or "raz". JackO'Lantern 20:48, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
IMDb info is posted by users. It's possible that poster was mistaken. I'd trust a published biography over IMDb. CPitt76 19:54, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

BOREANAZ IS A SLOVENIAN NAME. IT'S BOREANAC. HIS FATHER ANCESTORS ARE ETHNIC SLOVENES FROM ITALY. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cold water (talkcontribs) 22:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birth date

By the way, the book I linked to about his ancestry also says his birth date is 1971. A few other sites say this too, although some say 1969. I guess I'll trust the book and change it to 1971 for now. JackO'Lantern 23:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

The imdb has 1969. siafu 02:45, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Mr. Boreanaz blog which he signed up for (or his people did) states his age as 38.That would make his date of birth 1969, NOT 1971. Therefore do NOT change his date of birth without verifiable and concrete proof. http://fans.nhl.com/david_boreanaz/home/—Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.249.142.42 (talk) 03:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Filmography

Boreanaz also started in "The Crow 4 : Wicked Prayer". He played Luc Crash or Death. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crow:_Wicked_Prayer. Why isn't this listed? Cherina74@yahoo.com

  • As far as I know, it's not listed because you decided to come here instead of putting it in. If you know you're right, just change the darn page :) I certainly can't be bothered(195.92.168.167 23:06, 7 July 2006 (UTC))

[edit] His name

Boreanaz was just on a Philadelphia sports show and said his name was David Paul Boreanaz, not David Patrick. The host said they'd gone to Wikipedia. Boreanaz repeated, "It's Paul."

That's really odd. A google search seems to turn up roughly equal results for David Patrick Boreanaz as David Paul Boreanaz. If he genuinely went on TV and corrected i though then I guess that's right.Jayunderscorezero 14:22, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

They guy verbally verified on public radio that his middle name is Paul, nothing "odd" about that. Search engines are not the bible and only search out infomation whether that information is correct or incorrect. :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.249.142.42 (talk) 16:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

to be honest, don't believe everything you read here on wikipedia either!! in the above statement, the host said they came on here, and got the wrong info - saturday 3rd nov 07's episode of Parkinson, french and saunders were guests, and jennifer saunders said - have you ever been on wikipedia? i looked myself up, and half the stuff is wrong. she said a couple more things, but just proves this may be a great encyclopedic site that can be wrong!! As long as there are valid sources to back up statements and other things that need backing, then that should take care of any wrong...or at least most of it. Wikipedia is often an excellent source of information, but more so when that information is sourced (with good sources, of course). Flyer22 23:06, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big Bad appearing in the opening credits

"and being the only Big Bad to appear in the opening credits." Acually this is not true. Alyson Hannigan (Willow) was the Big Bad of Season 6, and did also appear in the opening credits.

I'm not sure if this part of the article should be changed or just removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Andrudis (talkcontribs) 20:28, 8 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Work with animals

Look what I just found. Gotta be worth adding. --Masamage 08:32, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Some Answers to Your Questions

David's dad is Czech, his mother is Italian, his middle name IS Patrick, and he WAS born in 1971. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Inuyashax38 (talkcontribs)

Do we have sources for all those things? --Masamage 22:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Nope they don't...their just spouting BS...it's Paul. 1969. get over it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.249.142.42 (talk) 02:33, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Potential libel

I've just removed a sentence about David having an affair and a love child. If anyone has a source for this, feel free to revert. Rojomoke (talk) 23:32, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citation

I don't know how to change or add citations. I noticed the Ithaca College reference needs a citation. Here: http://www.fox.com/bones/bios/david.htm . (I also found him in an article at the Ithaca website: http://www.ithaca.edu/icq/2005v4/features/boreanaz.htm ) Also, I noticed that the website for ref 1 also lists his dob as 1971 and middle name as Patrick, as well as (several fan sites). I am not advocating a change, but maybe this reference should be changed as it has the "incorrect" information in it. Just a thought. I dunno. What do you think? [edit] Flyers fan?

The article states that Boreanaz is "a huge Flyers fan" without any citation.

I have found several sources stating that he is in fact a Buffalo Sabres fan, and in fact, in the spring of 2007 ran a blog on NHL.com as a guest celebrity Sabres fan. And he was born in Buffalo, NY, so there is some connection there.

Should this info be added, or at least should the statement about the Flyers be sourced somehow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.251.125.50 (talk) 22:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
