this page is clearly a stub at present albeit several images. the importance is given as mid, because its the only outpost of civilization between santa cruz and half moon bay on a long stretch of coast hwy and thus has considerable regional and even statewide recognition. [edit] Shore whaling in Davenport?

I haven't come across any first-hand accounts or techical works that have mentioned a station as having been established in Davenport Landing. A source I found online (http://scplweb.santacruzpl.org/history/places/cstdy1-2fn.shtml) says, despite some historians saying a station existed here, no evidence exists of shore whaling having been practised here. Until someone provides a reliable source on this subject, the paragraph I removed will stay removed. Jonas Poole (talk) 02:40, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
