Tedious anecdote about being Gotcha'd by Noel Edmonds in the "Career at Radio 1" Section. Is anyone really interested in this?

Nicky Campbell's page claims he replaced DLT, not Danny Baker, after his resignation. Which is correct? Guinness 11:03, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Have discovered that it was indeed NC who replaced him[1], although DB took over 9 weeks later. Guinness 11:11, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nickname

Is that "hairy cornflake" nickname entry genuine? Anybody have a source? I'm suspicious that this is vandalism. Guinness 13:49, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Well I'm unsure if it was bestowed by himself or by others, but it's certainly the nickname by which he's popularly known --172.189.28.245 14:37, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

DLT also presented The Sunday Request Show on the BBC World Service (late 70s- early 80s?). In there he nick named himself 'The Hairy Monster'.

[edit] Clean up

I've flagged this for a clean up. It rarely uses language appropriate to an encyclopedia ('luckily they were not broadcast over the airwaves or he may have got into considerable trouble!', 'Radio 2 declined as they said they had no need for a hairy cornflake') and a large section is devoted to the 'Gotcha' DLT received from Noel Edmonds, which is also hardly of encyclopedic significance.

I agree, although there should be a reference to his nickname as the "Hairy Conflake".

Added Reference for 'Hairy Cornflake', and a few more external references / links. Removed Clean up section.--86.31.230.29 07:10, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Resignation - jumping before he was pushed

Dave Lee Travis was an overbearing, highly boorish and irritating presence on Radio One, and his bitter deparure and lack of grace when leaving spoke volumes about the man. How he got a job on radio in the first place is a real mystery. Guv2006 21:27, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Give him a break. He was a good DJ in his day. Better than the posturing fools you get nowadays. He had a loyal following, and was right for the time. Luckyles 15:29, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
