[edit] WP:3O request

I am of the opinion that the following text

Hull is a giant full-back who has been compared to GB international Paul Wellens, with good kick returns and few getting past him in the defensive line.

is opinion, non-neutral, and basically tantamount to original research. User:Londo06 disagrees with me, as discussed here.

Comments would be appreciated. - Che Nuevara 13:06, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Response to 3O request: That sentence is certainly not suitable for inclusion; it is unreferenced original research. This article is subject to WP:BLP, which makes it clear that WP:V must be followed strictly. As the editor who wishes it to remain, Londo06 must provide reliable independent reference sources (primary will suffice for this purpose, though secondary is always preferred of course) that make this claim. Then it can be rewritten accordingly along the lines of: "sources X and Y described him as...." If no such sources are forthcoming, follow WP:V and remove it. On a related note, the article should be tagged with {{References}} until some are provided. The two external links (to the same website, incidentally, which is not appropriate for an EL section) could be used for the simplest of fact verification, but cannot be used as sole reference sources because they are trivial mentions. According to their player profiles, Hull is shorter than 23 and lighter than 28 of the 29 other players listed in the box on this article. At 181 cm (5'11") and 82 kg (181 lb), his stature isn't actually very impressive at all. If you can source the other information -- and I would encourage you to do so promptly -- then that's all well and good, but I'm taking the "giant" out because it's clearly unfounded. - Che Nuevara 18:32, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
