David S. McKay, PhD, NASA photograph, ~2005. Dave McKay is leader of the team that announced the discovery in 1996 of possible evidence for ancient life on Mars. McKay has spent the majority of his career as a NASA civil servant scientist, studying the Moon, lunar dust, cosmic dust, and meteorites.
