Davy Francis

Davy Francis is a cartoonist from Belfast, Northern Ireland born in 1958.[1]

He has drawn humour comic strips in British comics since the early 1980s.

He drew comics as a four year old at the time heavily influenced by the The Beano and sold them to his family for an old penny each.[2] Later he was drawing on the N. Ireland comics scene. His big break was when IPC head Bob Paynter gave him some pages to draw in Monster Fun. Later Bob and the editors got in touch for him to draw comics for Oink! and he drew Cowpat County.

He also drew comics in UT, Braindamage, Gas, Spare Rib and 3-D Zone. He also wrote the script for 'Anger' drawn by Jeremy Banx in Seven Deadly Sins published by Knockabout Comics.

He was interviewed by James Whale (radio) television show and said he was drawing Zombie Wrestlers.

He was editor of Blast #7[3]

He has self-published his own Ciderman comics in Funny Ha-Ha[4] and Sean Doran later drew this character.

He mostly works in the advertising field now and continues live in Belfast with his wife and daughter.
