Davor Bobic

Davor Bobić is a Croatian music composer.

Bobić received his musical education received from the Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has composed in a range of musical forms, ranging from piano miniatures to symphonic works and musical works for theatre.

His opus consists of over a hundred pieces composed for solo instruments, chamber music ensembles, choirs, and orchestras. Two CDs of his work have been issued, and a TV documentary has been made about his work. His works have been performed at festivals and conventions all over the world. His greatest achievements are : "Eshaton" for bayan and orchestra and "Zoe" from short pieces. Oratorio "King Tomislav", about first Croatian King, who defeated Hungarians and Burgarians, was performed in Zagreb and Tomislavgrad where halls were full. Oratorio length is about 45 minutes. Simphony "Vukovar Requiem" is maybe his greatest achievement. It was performed at the day when Croatian hero-town Vukovar felled. Lisinski hall was totally full, and performance was fantastic. He's newest composition, "Veronica of Desinić" is ballet which mixes the styles of national, folklor music and classical music. It was performed in Zagreb and in Davor Bobić's birth town Varaždin. He is composing music for theatre, these are some of his soundtracks:

  • Heracles, Orestia, Master and Margarita, Dundo Maroje, Croatian God Mars, King of Carnival and Edip.

Bobić is currently concentrating on music for theatre performances such as ballet, opera and musicals, as well as for movies.
