Davis Selected Advisers

Davis Selected Advisers is an independent investment firm based in Boston, MA.

The firm was establiished by Shelby M.C. Davis in 1969 whose father Shelby Cullom Davis was a well known investment advisor to major political figures, and who over a 50 year period had reportedly turned a $100,000 investment into $800 million. He was also the United States Ambassador to Switzerland.

The company operates several types of funds, from venture capital to emerging markets. In December 2007 the firm made a $1.2 Billion investment in Merrill Lynch.

According to the company's web site, several of the managers and directors have the last name Davis.
