Davidstow

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Davidstow is a village and civil parish in Cornwall, England.

The village is located along the A395, about 3 miles north of Camelford and 15 miles west of Launceston. Davidstow and Cathedral City cheese are produced here by Dairy Crest, using water ultimately from St David's Holy Well, next to the parish church. 'Davidstow' means David's Place. The church is supposed to have been founded by Saint David in the 6th century, whilst visiting his mother at nearby Altarnun.
