"Davidian" is a single and the opening song on US metal band Machine Head's debut album Burn My Eyes, released in 1994; it is perhaps their most widely-known song.

[edit] Controversy

The song features the lyrics "Let freedom ring / with a shotgun blast". Subsequently the video was banned from MTV due to its release date being very soon after the Waco Siege which it was apparently describing. Robb Flynn has since said that "Davidian" was not written about the Waco Siege but added that line to get people thinking.[citation needed]

[edit] Cover Versions

The song was covered by Welsh band Lostprophets for Kerrang Magazine's "Higher Voltage - Another Brief History of Rock" CD
