David Yeates

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Yeates was a key member of Four to the Bar, a mainstay of the 1990s New York Irish music scene.

His primary role was as vocalist, but he also added bodhrán, flute, tin whistle, and other percussion to the band's sound, on both stage and recordings.

As a songwriter, he wrote one track for the band's watershed album, Another Son: "NY's for Paddy." This song was later featured in iTunes' Essential St. Patrick's Day Music collection.

David Yeates is also an insect systematist that studies the evolution of flies (Diptera) and is part of the NSF sponsored Assembling the Tree of Life (ATOL) project for that group.
