[edit] Background

David John Williams was born in Bridgend, Wales, on May 11, 1986. He first began playing in a band at age 15 when he stole a bass and gave it to his best friend. He studied music in college, and learned to play bass, though his main interest was singing. While in college, he enjoyed traveling Europe, and Europe plays a big part in his identity. David met his girlfriend, Lauren, while in London and moved to the United States soon after. He met Joel Bourne, the drummer for The Dear & Departed, when Joel began dating one of Lauren’s friends. Joel wanted David to join the band even though they already had a bassist and guitarist. When Lisa Marx left the band, David was asked to step in as bassist. He was back in Wales at the time, and Dan Under (vocalist for TD&D) sent him demos of their songs and asked him if he was interested. He joined the band, and they started recording in December of 2006. After a tour with AFI and Sick of it All at the beginning of 2007, the band’s first album, Something Quite Peculiar, was released on May 22, 2007.

[edit] Collaboration With Vandini Shoes

David has designed a pair of shoes for the London company Vandini Shoes. He will continue to work with them in the future.

[edit] Original Paintings

In early 2008, David began painting original artwork and making it available for purchase on his Myspace page (www.myspace.com/beloved6). When asked where his inspiration comes from, he said "I paint what I see. . . . I just paint how I see the world or as best as I can. I paint the unreal that exists with the real." David has used materials such as watercolors, wine, coffee, absinthe, Chanel parfum, and earth to paint with.
