David White (April 4, 1916November 27, 1990) was an American stage, film and television actor.

Born in Denver, Colorado, he served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

He began his acting career in live theatre, making his Broadway debut in 1953.

He married actress Mary Welch, by whom he had a son, Jonathan White (born July 14, 1955 - died December 21, 1988). In 1958, Mary Welch White died during a second childbirth.

In 1964 White got the role of the Machiavellian advertising executive Larry Tate on Bewitched, which he played for the show's entire run (1964 - 1972). This is the role for which he would be best-known during his life and posthumously.

David White's son, Jonathan White, died at the age of 33, a victim of the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. Jonathan, a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, was to begin his audit career with Coopers & Lybrand (Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in January 1989. David White never fully recovered from this loss.

He died of a heart attack on November 27, 1990, aged 74. He was interred with his son and wife at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
