David Welsh (c. February 7, 1986 -), born Barry David Lee Welsh, is currently Ontario's youngest secondary school teacher. He completed teacher's college at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York in 2007 at the age of 21 and was hired as an occasional (supply) teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board at the age of 22.
He attended Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario for his undergraduate degree and received a Bachelor of Arts in History after two years of study. He enrolled in his pre-service education program at the age of 20 and began classes in January, 2007.
His birth date and licence to teach in Ontario (granted March 4, 2008), can be confirmed by checking on the public registrar on the Ontario College of Teachers' Website (www.oct.ca).
