David Wells (born June 8, 1960) is a self-described medium and astrologer. Born in the community of Kelloholm in Scotland, Wells claims he discovered his abilities after suffering from pneumonia, learning astrology and studying the Kabbalah to "ground" his abilities.[1] He was previously the main medium on Living TV show Most Haunted.
His work includes appearances on Jane Goldman Investigates, Psychic Interactive and Most Haunted. He also serves as the official astrologer for NOW magazine (UK) and the Scottish Daily Record. He was the astrologer for the Metro newspaper. Before working as a medium, he served in the Royal Navy.[1]
Wells first served as a guest medium on Most Haunted in 2004, on the episode at The Greengate Brewery, along with the then resident medium Derek Acorah.[2] He has now taken over Acorah's position on the show after Acorah allegedly faked several incidents on camera. In contrast to his predecessor (who appeared to be for the most part clairaudient) Wells predominately seems to be clairvoyant. Wells also occasionally employs the use of tarot cards and scrying mirrors as aids to communicating with the spirit world. Unlike Acorah, Wells maintained a relatively low profile; he also only rarely channels spirits. He has recently given up his role on Most Haunted to concentrate on writing and participating in workshops around the country.
