[edit] Athletics

Butler is a Charlotte athletic power in many sports. Most notably in softball where the school has claimed many titles. The football program is also somewhat successful, but only has one division title due in large part to the success of Butler's great rival Independence. In 2007 Butler won the division title in football, beating Independence in the regular season before falling to the Patriots in the regional semi-final.
