David Vieira (born David Vieira Da Silva on February 28, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under the legendary Carlos Gracie, Jr.. David is a multiple BJJ World Champion, has competed in many Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and has also won several National and International titles. David’s brother Daniel started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and after a few months he convinced David to start training with him. David was seventeen at the time and he loved the martial art from the beginning. His first instructor was Alexandre Lima at the Infight Jiu-Jitsu Academy and after a while he was invited to started training with Rogerio Poggio at the main Infight Academy in Rio de Janeiro. After winning the world championship, David went to São Paulo to train with Totila Jordan Neto “Pitoco”, who was the one responsible for David’s progress in this sport. During that time, David came to the United States to compete and that is when he was introduced to Gracie Barra by Eduardo de Lima. When David went back to Brazil he decided to join Gracie Barra Academy where eventually he got his Black Belt. At Gracie Barra, David had the chance to train with some of the best instructors and fighters in the world. In 2006, David and Daniel opened their own school, Gracie Barra Pinellas / David Vieira Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (DVBJJ), in Pinellas Park, Florida[1].
