David Throsby

David Throsby (1939-) is an Australian economist, especially well-known as a cultural economist.

He is now a Professor of Economics at Macquarie University, Sydney. He achieved his doctorate at London School of Economics. He is a past-president of Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI). He joins the editorial boards of some journals such as the Journal of Cultural Economics and the International Journal of Cultural Policy. His book, Economics and Culture, has been translated into several languages, including French and Japanese. His survey of cultural economics in JEL has been frequently quoted since 1994.
