Dave Taylor (born 8 July 1988) is an Australian professional rugby league player, currently playing for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition.

[edit] Career

One of the most exciting junior talents to come out of Queensland last season, this Australian Schoolboy tasted first grade while still lugging a backpack at St Brendan's. He also tore up opposition defences in the Queensland Cup last year, and has duly earned his promotion to the Broncos' top squad. Taylor has dropped several kilos of weight as he prepares to try and break into the Broncos team permanently. A name of the future. 2007 is so far a huge season for him as he scored the try against the Gold Coast Titans to send the game into golden point extra time, with Darren Lockyer kicking the winning field goal. Taylor then followed these performances up with two tries against the Bulldogs in Brisbane's narrow 25-24 loss in round 22. Taylor has made a name for himself as being one of the NRL's hardest hitters and runners. He is touted as future representative player for both Queensland and Australia. He is also exceptionally quick for a man weighing 114kg being able to run the 100 metres in just under 13 seconds making him very hard to tackle one on one and will almost always score when close to the line with a full head of steam.[citation needed]
