David Tauchen

David Tauchen (born October 4, 1983) is a television journalist. He currently works as a reporter for KOAA-TV, based in Colorado Springs, CO 7[1]

Tauchen was born on October 4. 1983 in Santa Barbara, CA. He grew up in Centennial, CO attending Cherry Creek High School and graduating in 2002.

He majored in journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder. While in college he was one of the first students to appear on MSNBC's On Campus segment, a program that invites student journalists to appear on air[2]. In 2006, Tauchen received a Heartland Chapter Emmy Award for Student Achievement for his role as producer on a documentary titled "Destination: Pluto and Beyond".[3][4] Tauchen was also featured in the 2006 PBS documentary series Roadtrip Nation[5] In the series, he and two team members travel the U.S. interviewing successful people about how they found their careers. Notable interviews include Ira Glass, David Neeleman, and Wanda Sykes.[6]

In 2005, Tauchen was the Tony Peyton Memorial Intern at the Washington Center for Politics and Journalism in Washington, DC.[7]

Tauchen began his reporting career as an intern at Bloomberg TV in both New York City and Washington, DC.[8]

In 2007 he worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, IA. He now works as a reporter at KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
