David Stuart (Canadian actor)

Canadian-born David Stuart (November 19, 1965, Edmonton, Alberta) developed an interest in acting at an early age growing up in Fredericton, New Brunswick [1]. His first “role” in the Grade 2 Christmas play was booked without an audition due to his uncanny ability to hyper-extend his stomach. Apparently the bug bit as Acting has been his primary passion ever since [2]. After completing a B.F.A. in Acting at the University of Victoria, David headed to Los Angeles to attend both summer school and the two year program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts[3]. While studying his craft, David worked as a background performer on such classics as Bird on Wire and 21 Jump Street (episode 47). His first guest starring role was on the 1988 series Time Exposures alongside Peter Outerbridge (Lucky Number Slevin, ReGenesis). From there he earned roles on shows like The X-Files, Touched By An Angel and Jake 2.0 [4]. During this time, you could also find him in a supporting role on the big screen in The Climb alongside Dabney Coleman (Domino, The Guardian) as well as in the TV movie Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenét and the City of Boulder with Kris Kristofferson (Blade), Marg Helgenberger (CSI), and Ronny Cox (Stargate) [5]. Other credits include Three Moons Over Milford, Criminal Intent, Inconvenience, Suspicious Agenda, The Marshal, Area 88 (voice), Daisenki (voice) and Dysfunction (voice) [6]. On top of his successful film and television career David Stuart has booked over 100 commercials [7]. Among them a Kyocera spot directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking) and the Ford Mustang tribute to Bullitt and Field of Dreams titled Cornfield featuring 'Steve McQueen' [8]. In 2007, David can be found guest starring on a number of hit shows: Eureka, Kyle XY, Supernatural, Flash Gordon and Whistler. He can also be seen in the Danny DeVito / Matthew Broderick Christmas movie Deck the Halls and in the upcoming 2008 release Sweet Amerika as the villain alongside Gulshan Grover (Bollywood’s legendary Badman) [9].
