David Starkey (maritime historian)

David Starkey is a British specialist in eighteenth and nineteenth-century British maritime history. In particular his research is focussed on fisheries history and related topics. He teaches at the University of Hull where he is director of the Maritime Historical Studies Centre.
He is one of the two presidents of the North Atlantic Fisheries History Association (NAFHA)
To avoid confusion with David Starkey he publishes as David J Starkey.
