David Spaven

David Spaven was a Scottish Green Party Speaker before the separation of the English/Welsh and Scottish parties in 1991. He worked as a British Rail manager for 18 years until 1995.[1]
He stood as a Green candidate in Glasgow Maryhill in 1987, taking 1.5% of the vote[2].
While in Glasgow, he campaigned against the M74 Northern Extension.
He was Chair of TRANSform Scotland for a number of years. He is now involved with Get Edinburgh Moving.[3]
He is no longer active in electoral politics but is a campaigner as well as a transport consultant used by Scottish and UK transport agencies.[1]
