David S. Rosenthal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David S. Rosenthal is an American television producer, and was the last executive producer of the American dramedy Gilmore Girls, in that show's seventh and final season. Rosenthal is also a former producer for the American sitcom Hope & Faith and the American sitcom Ellen.

Within a year, Rosenthal swiftly jumped from being a production assistant on Anything but Love to staff writer on the same show; then two years later, another jump, this time to a head writer position on Ellen; Rosenthal stayed for three years and then was reportedly fired. After a year-long stint developing sitcoms for Jeffrey Katzenberg, he was hired as a writer on the sitcom Spin City and was quickly promoted to showrunner.

Rosenthal married a fellow Spin City writer and landed a lucrative $2.5 million contract with Fox Television. He later quit his job on Spin City to focus on writing a controversial play about supermodel Heidi Klum.[1]
