David S. Dodge

David Stuart Dodge (born 1922, Beirut) was the Vice-President for Administration (1979-83), Acting President (1981-82) and President (1996-97) of the American University of Beirut.
David Dodge received his education at Deerfield Academy and Princeton University, and became a Military Intelligence officer in World War II. After that he found employment at Aramco and the Trans-Arabian Pipeline Company. Dodge was kidnapped on July 19, 1982 by militants and released later that year.
David Dodge was married to Doris Westfall Dodge until her death in August 2000. With Doris, David had four children: Nina, Bayard, Melissa, and Simon.
