David Proud

David Proud (born 14th March 1983 in Cambridgeshire), was born with Spina Bifida and uses a wheelchair. David attended his local school where he studied Drama at GCSE and Theatre Studies at A level.

David was picked by BBC producer Ewan Marshall to play lead in a CBBC drama called Desperados, he received personal training from Uri Roodner of East 15 Acting School. In the series David played a young character called “Charlie” who enters the fascinating world of Wheelchair Basketball. David has played the sport since the age of 11, winning various national awards including “GBWBA most promising young player of the year”

Since Desperados David has secured a mainstream acting agent has gone on to be involved in various other projects including feature film “Special People” due for national release in 2008. He is passionate about his acting work and is expanding his experience in stage, television and film.
