David Prior (artist)

David Prior is an award-winning British sound artist.

Prior is involved in solo and collaborative music projects, including the electro-acoustic experimental collaborations Liminal and Derailer.[1] [2] He conceived and directed the 1998 sound project, Ways of Hearing. [3]

David's work has won numerous prizes including the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Competition, Cornelius Cardew Prize, E.A.R (Hungarian Radio) and the George Butterworth prize.[4]

A part time senior lecturer at Dartington College of Arts, Devon, he studied at the University of Wales, Bangor and the University of Birmingham where he completed a Ph.D in Musical composition in December 2000.
