David Pocock (born 23 April 1988 in Zimbabwe) is an Australian Rugby Union player for the Western Force in the Super 14 competition. Pocock currently plays for the Force where he made his debut against the Sharks in 2006. The Super 14 regulations kept Pocock for playing any earlier in the season as his was not yet 18. Pocock made appearances for Australia A in the 2007 IRB Pacific Nations Cup earning many man of the match honours in many games of the tournament. Touted as a future Wallaby Pocock has been tipped to be a future great of the game mainly for his non stop play that saw him force more turnovers in a match where he was pitted against 2006 IRB player of the year and All Blacks captain Richie McCaw.

From the EWForce website: "Having made his Investec Super 14 debut in the last round of the 2006 season, David played like a veteran throughout the 2007 campaign. Known as ‘Bam Bam,’ the 19 year old openside flanker was lethal at the breakdown, snaring the media’s ‘Man of the Match’ honours against the Reds in round seven. Sidelined by a hamstring strain from the Chiefs match, David returned for the Brumbies and impressed. The Zimbabwean-born backrower was one of 14 Force players selected in the Wallabies train-on squad in May, and played for Australia A against Tonga in May, and Japan and Fiji in June. A knee injury in the ET Perth Spirit’s first Mazda Australian Rugby Championship game against the Rams kept him out of the competition until the final rounds."

Something else I find quite interesting about this young chap is The Why Generation charity he is setting up. Their website is www.thewhygeneration.com
