David Petersen (sculptor)

David Petersen is a sculptor from Cardiff, living in St. Clares. He mainly uses metal for his sculpting but also paints and draws.

His sons Toby and Gideon are also sculptors. The family won a competition to make the National Beacon for the millennium celebrations.[1] David Petersen designed the Welsh first class postage stamp featuring a leek carved from wood.[2]

Petersen was also a Plaid Cymru candidate in the National Assembly elections for Brecon and Radnorshire constituency in 1999. He gained 2356 votes, 8.1% of the overall vote.[3]
