David Paisley (born February 2, 1979) is a Scottish actor, especially well-known for roles as midwife Ben Saunders in Holby City and Ryan Taylor in Tinsel Town. Openly gay himself, both his characters were controversial due to their sexual orientation.[1] He starred in the short film Sweat, screened at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival 2008, and selected for screening at NewFest in New York, June '08.
He had a long-term relationship with Alex Mercer, (with whom he shared Britain's first on-screen gay threesome scene in Tinsel Town). David also had a part in the film adaptation of David Leavitt's While England Sleeps.
He has been voted 'Britain's sexiest man' by readers of Gay Times magazine.[2]
He can currently be seen in the BBC Scotland soap opera River City as Rory Murdoch.
