The Rt Rev David Nigel de Lorentz Young CBE, formerly Bishop of Ripon, lives in active retirement in Lancaster, Lancashire, England.

- Young was made a Commander of the British Empire in the 2000 New Year's Honours List, "For services to the Church of England and to Education."
- The David Young Community Academy in Leeds was named after him on 18 October 2006. It is a 'faith school', built at a cost of £23m. [1]
