David Melding (born in Neath, August 28, 1962) is a Welsh Conservative Party member of the National Assembly for Wales for the Welsh Conservative Party in the South Wales Central Region.

Member, Conservative Research Department 1986-89. Co-ordinator of the Carers National Association in Wales, 1996-99. Governor of a special school. Deputy Director of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs, 1989-96.

Member of the National Assembly for Wales for the Welsh Conservative Party in the South Wales Central Region since 1999.

Chair of the Standards of Conduct Committee in the First Assembly (1999-03). Chair of the Legislation Committee in the Second Assembly (2003-07). Was appointed Chair of Audit Committee in the Third Assembly (2007).
