David McGurn (born 14 September 1980 in Glasgow) is a Scottish footballer currently playing for Raith Rovers in the Scottish Second Division.
[edit] Career
David McGurn began his Morton career in 2003 when he was signed by John McCormack from Hillend Boys Club. In his first season McGurn was second in line behind first choice goalkeeper Craig Coyle. He spent all of the 2003-04 season on the substitutes bench. McGurn is in his second spell with the club as he was released by McCormack in May 2004. Howev the search for a new back-up goalkeeper was unfruitful and a new contract was offered with the new season fast approaching.
He was the regular first choice goalkeeper for Morton initially when Jim McInally replaced McCormack as manager. When McInally took charge Coyle was out injured and from there McGurn retained his place in the side until Jim McInally decided to sign aging 'goalkeeper' Paul Mathers who was less than impressive but still managed to stay ahead of McGurn in the pecking order.
He was released by Morton in May 2008 and signed for Second Division side Raith Rovers a few days later.[1]
