David Michael McGurk (born September 30, 1982 in Middlesbrough, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for York City.

McGurk started his career with Darlington. He had three loans spells at York City during his time at Darlington. He spent a month of the 2004–05 season at York, and had two spells at the club during the 2005–06 season.[1] He signed for York City permanently at the end of the 2005–06 season, turning down a new deal at Darlington.[2]

He missed several games of the 2006–07 season because of a cut eye. He also suffered from a throat infection, which resulted in a throat operation.[3] He was offered a new contract by York at the end of the 2006–07 season and was later persuaded by manager Colin Walker to sign an extended contract in January 2008.[4][5] He captained the side during Emmanuel Panther's two-match ommision from the squad during the 2007–08 season,[6] but Panther regained the captaincy after his return.[7] He was named as York's Clubman of the Year for the season before their final home game of the season against Farsley Celtic.[8]
