David Massey (music executive)

David Massey is a British-born, American record executive and former artist manager.
He has served as Executive Vice President of A&R for the Sony Music Label Group, a division of SonyBMG. Additionally, David has maintained the role of President of Daylight Records, a SonyBMG imprint and home to such artists as Good Charlotte, Anastacia, Cheyenne Kimball, and Cyndi Lauper.
Prior to his various roles at SonyBMG, David was best known for managing British new wave group, Wang Chung.
David Massey currently serves as President of Mercury Records, a label owned by Island Def Jam. Mercury was dormant in the United States until 2007 when IDJ Chairman Antonio LA Reid revived the label under the strong and creative leadership of Mr. Massey.[1]
